Let’s go, Nigeria! Showmax has announced that The Real Housewives of Abuja will premiere on the streaming service later this year.
While Abuja has been rumoured to be joining the list of international Real Housewives series for months, it was not until the streaming service’s recent social media posts that the new city was actually confirmed.
Below, check out Showmax’s tweet announcing RHOAbuja.
Abuja is the capital and eighth most populous city in Nigeria, according to a quick Google search. As of a 2016 census, the metropolitan area of Abuja is estimated at 6 million residents and is known for being one of the few purpose-built capital cities in Africa, as well as being one of the wealthiest.
As of right now, it is not yet known who will be a part of The Real Housewives of Abuja cast. The series, which is the second Nigerian city after The Real Housewives of Lagos, follows other African-based cities like Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, and Pretoria. In addition to Abuja, it has also been announced that The Real Housewives of Gqeberha is coming to African audiences in late 2023.
When will RHOAbuja premiere?
The Real Housewives of Abuja has only just gone into production and an official premiere date has not yet been announced although the show will debut sometime in 2023.
Where can I watch RHOAbuja internationally?
For international audiences, here’s to hoping that Bravo picks up the series for U.S. audiences. Outside of the U.S., Abuja will most likely be available on streaming service Hayu like the other international Real Housewives cities.
