Whitney Rose Responds To ‘RHOSLC’ Fan Backlash After Taking Photo With Jennie Nguyen: “She Is Not My Friend”

Whitney Rose is responding to massive RHOSLC fan backlash after she was spotted taking a photo with the very fired (and very racist!) Jennie Nguyen.

“Congratulations @whitneywildrose on your collaboration with @monkees.draper
Everything was amazing and beautiful!” the former RHOSLC star posted to Instagram on Saturday, September 23. “Keep doing fabulous and thriving like a wild rose is supposed to.”

Fan backlash

Understandably, Jennie’s post caught heat right away with many focusing their attention on Whitney.

“Whitney inviting Jennie to her event last night ohh that’s not…” posted one RHOSLC viewer.

Posted another, “.@whitneywildrose it’s actually disheartening to see you still engaging with this clown…”

Whitney took to Twitter (X) to respond to some of the fans who posted and is denying she is friends with Jennie, despite how happy they look in the photo.

“She showed up unannounced to this public event with her own camera crew,” she responded. “As I’ve said, she is not a friend and I do not stand by her beliefs at all.”

The RHOSLC star echoed a similar statement in another post, once again specifying that the photo was initiated by Jennie. “I did not invite Jennie to this event,” she said. “It was a public event and she showed up with her own camera crew. I do not stand by her beliefs at all and she is not my friend.”

Mary Cosby enters the chat

Mary Cosby is also none to happy with Whitney for taking the photo with Jennie, openly questioning her RHOSLC co-star in her own Twitter (X) post.

After a RHOSLC viewer requested Mary “go even harder” on Whitney at the Season 4 reunion because of the photo, the Friend of the Housewives responded in true Mary fashion.

“This tells me whitney is Racist too!” she posted.

“F-ck all you haters”

Whitney took to social media with another statement which again, doesn’t seem to be going over well with fans.

In a video posted to her Instagram Story and later posted on Twitter (X), Whitney addressed what she called her “haters.”

“You know what, everyone? I hate that I have to do this on a Saturday after enjoying a quiet day with my family but fuck all you haters because I am not friends with Jennie Nguyen, I did not invite her to my event. She showed up to my event that I was hosting that was a public event with her own camera crew, okay?

She came up to me, she apologized, she said she felt bad for everything that happened, she is not my friend, I do not stand by what she said… her beliefs… But if someone says ‘I’m sorry’, I’m going to snap a photo and move on. What was I going to do, create a scene at my business event? No. She stood by me for a minute, stood by me, and moved on… So you all should too. Thank you.”

Whitney’s statements do not seem to be going over well with viewers, however.

“It’s revolting how Whitney denounced her friend she filmed with for being apart of January 6th but never condemned Jennie for making fun of black ppl being killed by the police,” posted one RHOSLC viewer. “It’s almost like she waited for everyone to forget to invite her to her event. Fake ally #RHOSLC.”

Another viewer took Whitney to task for not understanding why some RHOSLC fans are upset in the first place. “It’s not your apology to accept, Whitney. You do understand that Jennie didn’t target you, right? She targeted Mary Cosby. Mary is the only person due an apology,” posted @thirdking0208. “You said Jennie came with a camera crew — that means you gave her the moment she desired. Come on, now.”

“You could have simple [sic] ‘accepted’ her apology although it’s Mary’s to receive and declined the photo op and smile,” posted another viewer. “Thats the point. She used you for clout and you co-signed her bs. There’s no moving on till complete acknowledgment.”

Jennie Nguyen fired

As previously reported on TVDeets.com, Jennie Nguyen was fired from RHOSLC in January 2022 after Bravo discovered racist posts on her Facebook account.

“Bravo has ceased filming with Jennie Nguyen and she will no longer be a cast member of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” the network said at the time.

“We recognize we failed to take appropriate action once her offensive social media posts were brought to our attention. Moving forward, we will work to improve our processes to ensure we make better informed and more thoughtful casting decisions.”

Season 4 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City stars Whitney Rose, Mary Cosby, Meredith Marks, Lisa Barlow, Heather Gay, Angie Katsanevas, and Monica Garcia and airs Tuesdays on Bravo.
