Jennie Nguyen Fired From ‘RHOSLC’

The news comes days after racist Facebook posts belonging to Jennie were uncovered.

Bravo has fired Jennie Nguyen from RHOSLC after racist Facebook posts belonging to the reality newbie were uncovered just last week.

“Bravo has ceased filming with Jennie Nguyen and she will no longer be a cast member of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” the network said in a statement released to social media earlier this morning (January 25).

The statement continued, “We recognize we failed to take appropriate action once her offensive social media posts were brought to our attention. Moving forward, we will work to improve our processes to ensure we make better informed and more thoughtful casting decisions.”

Racist Facebook posts uncovered

Late last week, racist Facebook posts allegedly belonging to Jennie surfaced, deeply upsetting the Bravo fan base.

The RHOSLC star seems to have an infatuation with the protests against police brutality throughout the last year, as many of the posts seem to focus around that. “If you still think police officers are the problem, you are an idiot,” reads one meme shared by the reality star that compared protestors to looters.

In another, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star shared a debunked article that claimed George Floyd, whose tragic murder at the hands of a police officer kicked off last year’s Black Lives Matter movement, had died of a drug overdose. “If you follow the officers orders, you won’t get shot,” reads another of Jennie’s memes.

RHOSLC is reportedly in the early stages of production on Season 3 despite the Season 2 reunion still weeks way and up until today, Jennie was still filming with the rest of the cast. The firing news comes just hours after ratings for Sunday’s episode were released which saw the show lose almost 200K live viewers from the week before.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Sundays on Bravo.
