A production crew working on MTV’s Teen Mom Family Reunion Season 2 has gone on strike, according to recent reports.

Deadline reveals that the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) has launched a strike against Teen Mom Family Reunion while the series films in Bend, Oregon. According to their report, the union doesn’t have a contract with the show’s producers but went on strike on Labour Day, requesting additional health benefits.

“The crew on this production is demanding health and pension benefits that are being provided to the directorial team,” the union said in an official statement.

According to IATSE, the show’s production company, Onsite Production, “is actively looking for replacement crew” and is scheduled to resume production today (September 6). “We are asking IATSE members not to cross this picket line to work on this production,” the union said in a message to its members. “If you are contacted to work on this production, please immediately contact your local union’s business agent.”

As reported exclusively by The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, production on Season 2 of Teen Mom Family Reunion hasn’t gone smoothly and it’s not all due to the strike.

According to their sources, stars Briana DeJesus and Ashley Jones got into a huge fight while filming on set and have been sent home, along with their mothers (Season 2 is reportedly set to feature mother-daughter therapy sessions).

After the fight, the company working on the series decided to strike but The Ashley reveals that this isn’t the regular production company MTV usually uses for the Teen Mom series.

“They’ve used the company for [Family Reunion], both seasons,” an insider told the gossip site. “We’ve heard that it’s because the network felt that the [regular company that does Teen Mom show production] didn’t have enough control of the set, but not sure if that’s true. So there are different producers, tech guys, etc. on this set than the cast is used to.” The production company reportedly works with MTV on some of their other big reality shows, according to the insiders.

“They’re basically begging people to come up there,” another source added about efforts to replace the striking crew. “Between the fights, some COVID issues and now the crew strike, this filming has been plagued with issues. It’s kind of a disaster!” According to The Ashley’s sources, the crew was still striking as of Tuesday.

Season 2 of MTV’s Teen Mom Family Reunion will reportedly premiere later this year.
