Family Of ‘Bling Empire’ Star Anna Shay Releases Statement Following Her Passing At Age 62

Bling Empire, Netflix, Anna Shay, passes away, dead, stroke

The family of Bling Empire star Anna Shay has released a statement following her passing at age 62.

“It saddens our hearts to announce that Anna Shay, a loving mother, grandmother, charismatic star, and our brightest ray of sunshine, has passed away at the early age of 62 from a stroke,” her family said in a statement to PEOPLE Magazine. “Anna taught us many life lessons on how not to take life too seriously and to enjoy the finer things. Her impact on our lives will be forever missed but never forgotten.”

Anna Shay was first introduced to reality TV viewers on Netflix’s Bling Empire back in 2021, where she quickly became a fan favourite for her no-nonsense attitude, lavish lifestyle, and mysterious backstory.

Unfortunately for reality fans, Netflix has cancelled both Bling Empire and Bling Empire New York, so Season 3 was the last we will have seen of the Los Angeles-based set of socialites.

The series, which was originally billed as the unscripted version of the hit movie Crazy Rich Asians, followed a group of well-connected socialites in the Los Angeles area as they navigated wealth, family, and friendship and seemed to have a decent following, at least according to social media.

According to PEOPLE, Anna leaves behind son Kenny Kemp and while the family statement refers to Shay’s grandchildren, their identities have never been made public.
