VH1 is filming an Orlando-based Basketball Wives spinoff starring Mehgan James, according to a hot new report.
According to The Jasmine Brand, VH1 is currently in production on Basketball Wives Orlando which is set to feature the former Basketball Wives LA star.
This new location will be the third instalment in the franchise, with the original series launching in Miami Florida in 2010, running for 5 seasons until 2013. The LA-based version premiered in 2011, itself running for 5 seasons until VH1 announced in 2017 that the original series would be revived and relocated to Los Angeles, therefore combining the two shows into just Basketball Wives.
Mehgan James will be familiar to viewers ahead of her debut on Basketball Wives Orlando as she appeared on the LA version back in Season 4.
Evelyn Lozada returns for Basketball Wives Season 11
As previously reported, Mehgan isn’t the only former cast member returning to the franchise.
Evelyn Lozada, who is an OG cast member, is returning for the now-filming Season 11 also according to The Jasmine Brand.
While the outlet indicates that it is unclear how the cast feels about Ev re-joining the show, she will have a friend in Brooke Bailey as the two were recently spotted hanging out together.
Basketball Wives is now filming Season 11, while the Basketball Wives Orlando spinoff is reportedly in production on Season 1. Both series are set to return to VH1 sometime in 2024.
