Captain Lee Rosbach has decided to exit Season 10 of Below Deck over health concerns, as last night’s (Monday, December 12) episode of the Bravo hit showed.

The longtime reality star and seasoned captain had been struggling with nerve issues since the start of Below Deck Season 10 but he had hoped the issues would subside, as PEOPLE recaps. Unfortunately, his health issues persisted and so he decided to leave motor yacht St. David in order to focus on getting better.

“My injury, it’s getting worse,” he said in a confessional interview during the episode. “The left side of my body, I don’t feel anything.”

He continued, “I expected a lot more progress than I’m experiencing, and the most frustrating part about it is, I can’t do a god d— thing about it, and it’s hard.”

Later in the episode, Captain Lee Rosbach sat down the crew and let them know he was exiting Below Deck Season 10 early: “As you guys know, I’ve been struggling with my mobility, and it’s been hard. And I’ve let you guys down, and for that I apologize. So I’ve made a decision to leave the boat.”

Thankfully, Captain Lee seems to be doing much better since the season aired, having recently attended BravoCon and appearing on Watch What Happens Live. In a series of tweets following the episode, he updated fans on his condition and whether or not he would be returning for Season 11.

“Doing just fine,” he responded when asked by a fan about his health.

Despite his health concerns during the season, the Cap says he is open to returning for another season. “I will [return] as long as it’s fun, which it is and you guys still want to have me,” he explained to another viewer.

While it is not yet known who is replacing Captain Lee for the rest of the season, the answer is available online should you choose to go digging. (No spoilers here!)

Below Deck has spawned countless spinoffs and is now a franchise with a Norway-based edition, Below Deck Adventure, currently airing on Tuesday nights.

Below Deck airs Mondays on Bravo.
