Abby Lee Miller Teases ‘Dance Moms’ Reboot

Abby Lee Miller is teasing a reboot of her Lifetime reality series Dance Moms.

According to an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Abby has a new show in the works that will feature both younger and older dance castmates and will reportedly see her go “toe to toe with the older girls themselves.”

The show — if it is picked up — will not be on Lifetime and will be slightly different from the original version which aired on the network from 2011-2019. “It’s not like I’m going back. This is all new,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s classic ‘Abby Lee Miller’ but there are little ones and their moms, and the talent is nuts.”

“You don’t go home crying to Mom…you’re 17, either you’re going to do this for a living…or quit,” she said of the new series. “The parents aren’t really involved when they get older, they just send a check in.”

While Abby plans to have familiar faces appear on the new series, one of them will not be breakout Maddy Ziegler, who referred to the Lifetime show as a “toxic environment” in a June 2022 interview with Cosmopolitan. “[Maddy] absolutely wants nothing to do with me and that’s sad, but it is what it is,” Abby explained to ET.

JoJo Siwa, however, would be welcome on the Dance Moms reboot. “She’s dancing. She keeps posting dance steps and turns and this and that,” said Abby. “I have to correct her all the time.”

While it is exciting for Dance Moms fans to hear about a potential reboot, this is not the first time Abby Lee Miller has teased a new reiteration of the project, so it will be interesting to see whether this new show actually makes it to the air.
