Netflix and Selling Sunset producers are reportedly scrambling to find a new villain after Christine Quinn’s exit ahead of Season 6, according to a juicy new report.
“Production sources tell TMZ … the folks who run the popular Netflix show are scrambling behind the scenes to figure out who is going to step into Christine’s place as the bad girl, and they’re hopeful holdover Chelsea Lazkani leans into the role in upcoming seasons,” reads a report from TMZ.
According to the gossip outlet, Selling Sunset producers have approached Chelsea about the villain role for Season 6 but she is apparently undecided. If she doesn’t step into the role, TMZ implies that either of the two new cast members, Bre Tiesi or Nicole Young, could be convinced to take over Christine’s spot.
Christine Quinn exits Selling Sunset ahead of Season 6
As previously reported, Christine Quinn is leaving Selling Sunset ahead of Season 6 and will not appear on the two new seasons just-announced by Netflix.
Just last week, co-star Emma Hernan addressed Christine’s exit, telling TMZ that the show has a “lot of amazing people” involved. Days later, Jason Oppenheim also spoke to TMZ, echoing the same sentiments.
“I don’t get involved,” he told a TMZ photo when approached about Christine’s exit, adding that he believes Season 6 and Season 7 will hold no shortage of drama. “I already believe they’re becoming the best [seasons].”
When asked who will fill the villain role after Christine’s departure, “There are a lot of strong personalities, including two new women. I don’t want to use the word ‘villain’ but I think there’s going to be interesting dynamics there.”
“I think that there’s going to be enough [drama],” he added, somewhat unsure.
Expected to return for Season 6 are Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Heather Rae El Moussa, Emma Hernan, Vanessa Villela, Amanza Smith, Davina Potratz, and newcomer Chelsea Lazkani.
Selling Sunset is now in production on Season 6 and Seasons 1 – 5 are now streaming on Netflix.
