VH1 has revealed the Basketball Wives Orlando cast while setting a fall premiere for the spinoff.
Earlier today (September 8), the network confirmed via an Essence press release that the Basketball Wives franchise will return with an all-new Orlando-set spinoff in just a few months time.
According to the release, the spinoff will feature Ashley Snell, Danielle Miller, Lyndzie Marble, Mackenzie Hyatt, Mehgan James, Morgan Bledsoe, Mulan Hernandez, Nique Brown, and Nikki Nicole and while VH1 has not officially announced a premiere date, the series will return sometime “this fall.”
“The inaugural season takes a fresh look at how the women of the Orlando basketball scene navigate the competitive world of sports,” reads the release. “Audiences will also see just how taxing this life can be, along with the people who have to experience it on a daily basis.”
As previously reported on TVDeets.com, diehard fans of the Basketball Wives franchise already knew the spinoff was coming with the news first being revealed by The Jasmine Brand a few months back.
This new location will be the third instalment in the franchise, with the original series launching in Miami Florida in 2010, running for 5 seasons until 2013. The LA-based version premiered in 2011, itself running for 5 seasons until VH1 announced in 2017 that the original series would be revived and relocated to Los Angeles, therefore combining the two shows into just Basketball Wives.
Mehgan James will be familiar to viewers ahead of her debut on Basketball Wives Orlando as she appeared on the LA version back in Season 4.
The OG show recently completed filming on Season 11 and will also return later this year.
