‘Selling Sunset’ Season 4: Why Is Heather Rae So Mad At Christine Quinn?

TV Deets is featured on the new season of the Netflix hit.

Selling Sunset Season 4 is now streaming on Netflix and if you’ve already binged the epic new season, you know that TV Deets may or may not have played a part in kicking off the true feud of the season, Heather Rae El Moussa vs. Christine Quinn.

Before you continue reading this article, be sure to watch Season 4 of Selling Sunset and read our official review. Otherwise, brace yourself for SPOILERS.

Why is Heather Rae El Moussa so mad at Christine Quinn?

At the beginning of Selling Sunset Season 4, Heather and Christine appear to be on good terms but as the season progresses, that definitely changes. As highlighted in our official review of the season, the show didn’t exactly dive into this feud how we would have wanted them to, so it’s important we fill in some of the gaps.

While never close friends—Christine has been on the outs with most of the women since the end of Season 1—Heather and Christine have always had a fairly respectful relationship. This season, Heather is celebrating her engagement to HGTV star Tarek El Moussa and of course, the conversation of who is and who isn’t invited to the wedding came up, with Heather later deciding that she would not be inviting Christine due to comments she made in the press and for bringing up a mutual ex during the course of the season.

What did Christine actually say about Heather?

Back when Season 4 was filming, Christine did a few interviews promoting the series and seems to have stepped on a few toes at the same time. When asked by Davina and Maya why Heather may be upset with her, Christine revealed that she did have some things to say about Heather and Tarek in the media.

During her press interviews, Christine made some humorous remarks that Heather and Tarek reminded her of another reality TV couple, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt from MTV’s The Hills, which, coincidentally, bears the same creator as Selling Sunset.

“It’s really funny to see Heather’s relationship play out because her and her boyfriend have such an interesting dynamic,” said Christine. “I call them ‘Speidi’ all the time because it’s like articles all the time about baking cookies, you know, watching movies. It’s ridiculous, so you know, you’re going to see the girls and I just get so tired of it.”

In a subsequent podcast interview, Tarek revealed that he was upset with Christine and that he and Heather are “not really interested in dealing with her nonsense.” Apparently calling the duo ‘Speidi’ was just a step too far.

“Christine has a big mouth,” he said at the time. “She said some s–tty things about us. We’re not really interested in dealing with her nonsense.”

Confronting Christine’s comments about his and Heather’s love for the media, Tarek fought back. “Listen, just because she’s never been famous before and she doesn’t know how it works, she doesn’t have to talk,” he explained. “It just makes her look stupid.”

Heather, for her part, agreed. “Of course people are interested in our lives,” she added. “He hadn’t been with another woman in four and a half years. Of course they’re going to be interested in another reality star dating a reality star.”

‘Selling Sunset’ Season 4 drama

While Heather and Tarek are playing it off that they aren’t all that bothered by Christine, their initial interview comments and their subsequent comments on Selling Sunset Season 4 definitely tell a different story.

Clearly, Heather and Tarek are hurt by what Christine said and while Christine attempted some resolution in the season finale, it looks like there is still more to come for this trio.
