Ramona Singer Questions Why Kristen Taekman Was Cast On ‘RHONY Legacy’ Over Aviva Drescher

Ramona Singer is openly questioning Bravo and Peacock’s decision to cast Kristen Taekman on the upcoming RHONY Legacy show over notable alum Aviva Drescher, according to a new interview.

Speaking during Thursday’s (May 18) live taping of Page Six’s “Reali-Tea” podcast live event, Ramona was joined by her daughter Avery, who referred to Kristen’s casting as “rogue.”

“I just genuinely forgot who she was,” said Avery, according to the gossip outlet’s write up. “Well, everyone did,” added Ramona, with the former Real Housewives of New York City star openly wondering how the RHONY Legacy casting came about. “Why don’t we have [alum] Aviva [Drescher]? Why do we have Kristen?”

As longtime Bravo fans know, Ramona and Kristen have quite the contentious relationship. After not really hitting it off during Kristen’s first season on the show, their feud escalated during Season 6 and resulted in Ramona throwing a wine glass in Kristen’s face on a cast trip to the Berkshires.

Earlier this week, Bravo and Peacock unveiled the cast for Season 5 of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip (or RHONY Legacy, depending on who you ask) with former RHONY stars Ramona Singer, LuAnn De Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Kelly Bensimon, Kristen Taekman, and Dorinda Medley getting their apples back — at least for the time being.

While it’s not clear what is going on with the reported RHONY Legacy show, it should be noted that Bravo-approved media outlets like Page Six have started referring to RHUGT Season 5 as RHONY Legacy.

If we were taking bets, we would guess that the network is waiting to see how the new reboot performs before deciding what to do with the veterans, like ordering an actual full-length season of the Legacy show so in theory, this RHUGT Season 5 filming could be a bit of a test for our New York ladies.

The series is expected to begin filming this July for a 2024 premiere. The rebooted Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New York City premieres Sunday, July 16 at 9|8c on Bravo.
