Peacock has confirmed that RHUGT Season 5 will be RHONY-themed, putting into question the rumoured RHONY Legacy show.
NBCU announced the exciting news just minutes ago at their 2023 upfront presentations to advertisers, with the cast of the new season appearing on stage. The Real Housewives of New York City will be headed to St. Barts for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip and the new season is set to star Ramona Singer, LuAnn De Lesseps, Kelly Bensimon, Kristen Taekman, Sonja Morgan, and Dorinda Medley.
The news shouldn’t come as a surprise to regular readers of TV Deets, as we reported on Bravo and Cocktail’s exclusive about a RHONY-themed Season 5 of RHUGT just weeks ago.
RHUGT Season 3
Season 3 of RHUGT finished airing in April and the entire 7-episode season is now available to stream on Peacock.
The Thailand-set season stars Heather Gay and Whitney Rose, Candiace Dillard Bassett and Gizelle Bryant, Alexia Nepola and Marysol Patton, alongside Porsha Williams and Leah McSweeney.
RHUGT Season 4
Before we get to Season 5 of RHUGT, however, Season 4 still needs to air. The season has already been filmed, with the Morocco-set trip scheduled for a 2024 debut.
As previously reported, Vicki Gunvalson, Gretchen Rossi, Brandi Glanville, Camille Grammer Meyer, Phaedra Parks, Eva Marcille, Alex McCord, and Caroline Manzo will star.
RHUGT Season 5
Peacock is expected to film Season 5 in St. Barts this June, although the season will not air until sometime next year.
If Season 4 airs sometime this fall, that means we can expect the RHONY-themed Season 5 to air in Spring 2024.
Fans won’t have to wait that long for a dose of New York City, however.
As previously reported, Bravo has split RHONY into two shows (hence the need for this RHUGT trip), with Season 14 starring an all-new cast. With this new announcement, however, it is unclear whether a RHONY Legacy show is still in the works as rumoured or if the one-week trip will be it for these Housewives vets.
The Real Housewives of New York City Season 14 premieres Sunday, July 16 on Bravo.
