Netflix has confirmed its long-rumoured New York City-set Bling Empire spinoff Bling Empire: New York starring reality veteran Dorothy Wang.

On Tuesday (October 4), the streaming service confirmed that Dorothy is set to lead the spinoff alongside her fabulous — and very wealthy — group of friends. Rumours about the series have been surfacing online for almost a year after Dorothy was spotted in New York City with Netflix cameras in tow.

In addition to Dorothy, Season 1 is set to feature fashion influencer Tina Leung and Hudson Medical’s Richard Chang, among others, according to a write up from PEOPLE.

Bling Empire: New York Season 1 Trailer

In addition to confirming the series and revealing the cast, Netflix has also dropped the first trailer for Season 1 of Bling Empire: New York. Take a look, below.

Dorothy Wang made her first reality TV appearance as part of E!’s Rich Kids of Beverly Hills which aired on the network for four seasons from 2014 – 2016. She joined Bling Empire, which is set in Los Angeles, for Season 2 before being given her own NYC-based spinoff, as previously reported.

Like with other Netflix reality series press releases, however, not much else is known about this new series other than the fact that Dorothy is leading up the cast.

TMZ was first to report the show’s existence back in January 2022, proving this spinoff has been in the works for a while. While Dorothy appeared on Season 2 of the OG show, she is not rumoured to be a part of Season 3, which drops on the streaming service next week.

Netflix has not announced a premiere date for Season 1 of Bling Empire: New York so it looks like we will have to wait a little bit longer to see Dorothy Wang run amok in the big city.

With that said, Season 3 of the OG series will surely fill that void and is set to drop this Wednesday, October 5. All episodes of Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming.
