Bethenny Frankel hasn’t spoken to Andy Cohen since the launch of her Real Housewives podcast called ReWives, she revealed in a new interview.
Speaking with Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie on the TODAY Show earlier this week (November 29), Bethenny was asked about her relationship with her former Bravo boss and she did not hesitate to spill the tea.
According to reports, Andy was miffed when the former Real Housewives of New York star launched her ReWives podcast a few weeks ago but according to Bethenny, the two remain on good terms. “We totally are pals and we take beach walks and most of what we talk about on those walks is the Housewives,” she told the hosts.
“I texted him when [my podcast ReWives] was coming out and he said ‘Oh fun, I’m glad to see you embracing the Housewives, which definitely is because I’ve said ‘I’m glad that I’m not there’ — which I am — but they’re not mutually exclusive,” she explained. “I am glad that I am not there but I also do get the right to talk about it because it was a quarter of my life.”
Some fans took issue with Bethenny’s podcast considering she has made fun of other Housewives and reality stars who have launched similar projects in the past. When promoting ReWives, she has also insulted and shaded other podcasts who choose to have two hosts (she’s talking to you, Reasonably Shady and Two Ts In A Pod!).

Bethenny continued to explain that she does not believe Andy is upset with her new gig. “So he said something in the media and that he was ‘shocked’ and that I had ‘trashed’ the Housewives, which I didn’t really trash the Housewives,” she said. “I said that it was toxic for me at that point for me, what it had become. I think it’s a different show than it was in the beginning, it has evolved into something different… More big, more shiny, more dramatic than when we started, undeniably.”
That said, she did reveal that she has not had a conversation with Andy since she texted him back when the podcast launched. “I’m going to do his show next week so we’ll talk about it then but there’s no conflict,” she dished. “He doesn’t care, personally but he’s probably annoyed. Why am I going and doing this? And it’s a great idea and it’s a different show and people are loving it. It’s exploded! The numbers are insane. So I’m sure he and some Housewives are a little irritated.”
Ending off the interview with some classic Bethenny shade, she openly revealed that she is in competition with her former Bravo boss. “I haven’t talked to him since [I texted him about my podcast] which I thought was interesting, too,” she said. “He told the press but didn’t text me. I’m like ‘honey, we’ll talk about it on my show… Before we talk about it on your show because I’ll get those ratings too, Andyland.'”
As previously reported, Bethenny Frankel has launched a new Real Housewives podcast called ReWives where she is set to rewatch old episodes of The Real Housewives of New York.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Bethenny denied that her new podcast will rehash any of the drama, however.
“We don’t delve into that territory,” she says. “I wanted to do a rewatch podcast, but I didn’t want to do something derivative. I didn’t just want to rewatch a show, scene by scene. So I thought ‘How could I do this in an interesting way?’ — not just having another Housewife talk about it to me like others do, but instead delving deeper. So it’s really about the real dynamics that are going on underneath, which I find to me more interesting anyway, and not the low-hanging fruit trash that others take away from it.”
As of now, Bethenny Frankel is not returning for the upcoming RHONY Legacy spinoff, which is set to feature a mix of current and former cast members. Season 14, with an all-new rebooted cast, is currently filming and will premiere on Bravo sometime in 2023.
