Showmax is launching The Mommy Club starring Mpumi Mops, a fan favourite from Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg, the streamer has announced.
According to a network press release, Mpumi is set to star on the all-new ensemble series alongside influencer and businesswoman Msmanche, author and motivational speaker Hermajesty, event planner and florist Nunurai, and beauty pageant owner Ratile Mabitsela.
The Mommy Club, which streams exclusively on Showmax from June 27th, will showcase the famous women “navigating the challenges of parenting – and the cutthroat world of ‘it moms.'”

“We chose these mommies because they are all fabulous, hard-working black women who have it all,” Zinzi Velelo Alake, executive producer at POP24, said in a statement. “After I had my child, I saw mommies who also just had children but they seemed to have it all together, better than I ever did, so that sparked my interest and I wondered if they were in some sort of ‘Mommy Club’.”
There are 15 children and 13 nannies between the ladies, meaning viewers will surely be in for their fair share of ups and downs when the new series debuts next month.
“My nanny is everything to me and my kids,” former Real Housewives of Johannesburg breakout Mpumi Mops said in a statement. “She is very loyal, loves children and takes care of them like her own. She is a great person and a second mother to my children.”
As fans of the international Real Housewives shows are aware, Mpumi became a breakout star and fan favourite after Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg. While Mpumi has left the Housewives world for The Mommy Club, RHOJ recently returned for Season 3 with an almost all-new cast.
The Mommy Club streams exclusively on Showmax starting June 27th, with new episodes dropping every Tuesday.
