The Real Housewives of Johannesburg is returning to 1Magic for Season 3 after a three-year break and with an all-new cast of Housewives to boot.
According to a network press release, the new season of RHOJ is set for a May 19th premiere and will be the first new episode in the series since Season 2 wrapped airing in January 2020.
Lebo Jojo Mokoena and Lethabo LeJoy Mathatho are the only Housewives returning from the last season and are joined by newbies Mamus Koka, Keabeetswe Marema, Thobekile Mdlalose, and Nicole Watson.
Previous season 3 was cancelled
As previously reported, 1Magic cancelled the previous Season 3 of RHOJ after a physical altercation broke out during filming leading to production replacing the entire cast and choosing to go in a different direction, explaining the years-long delay between seasons.
The Real Housewives of Johannesburg was the first Housewives franchise in Africa and quickly became a fan favourite, paving the way for other series like The Real Housewives of Durban and The Real Housewives of Cape Town. Season 2 starred Christall Kay, Brinnette Seopela, Lethabo “Lejoy” Mathatho, Lebo JoJo Mokoena, Mpumi Mophatlane, Mpho Merriweather, and Tarina Patel.
Season 3 of RHOJ premieres May 19 at 20:30 CAT on 1Magic.
