‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ Announces Season 2 Premiere, Season 3 Renewal

The show will return in "early 2021."

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is back, taking to social media to announce a Season 2 premiere as well as a Season 3 renewal.

Touting an “early 2021” premiere, the show made the official announcement on their Instagram page and according to Entertainment Weekly, the show has also been renewed for Season 3 by the BBC.

Season 3 renewal

“Looking forward to better days! I’m happy to announced the triumphant return of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK,” RuPaul Charles said in an official statement according to the magazine.

“Early in 2021, season 2 will arrive with all the hope, joy, laughter, and glitter you’ve come to expect from our brilliant queens. We’re also currently casting season 3 with the best and brightest Great Britain has to offer.”

As EW points out, despite multiple other international incarnations, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK has become a favourite among fans. The Vivienne was the winner of Season 1 and has gone on to international recognition.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK being renewed for Season 2 comes on the heels of the U.S. version winning multiple Emmys.

U.S. version also renewed

In addition to the UK-set version, Drag Race Canada aired its first season earlier this summer, while Drag Race Holland is currently airing on WOW Presents Plus, production company World of Wonder’s online streaming service.

Stateside, the American version has also been renewed for a new season. Back in August, VH1 confirmed that RuPaul’s Drag Race, RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked, and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars have all been renewed.

British viewers can watch RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 2 on the Three BBC iPlayer while international viewers will be able to check it out on Wow Presents Plus.
