‘Real Housewives Of Lagos’ Season 1: Showmax Reveals Cast, First Trailer

Showmax has released a sneak peek at The Real Housewives of Lagos Season 1, set to debut on the streaming service next month.

Just yesterday (March 15), the South African network revealed the lineup for the next iteration in the Real Housewives franchise and the women are super-glam, to say the least.

Carolyna Hutchings, Laura Ikeji, Chioma Ikokwu, Toyin Lawani-Adebayo, Iyabo Ojo, Mariam Timmer, make up the cast for The Real Housewives of Lagos Season 1 and according to a Showmax press release, the women will be “serving up all the high fashion, luxury, drama and power moves the franchise has come to be known and loved for globally” in “true Lagos style.”

Candice Fangueiro, the Head of Content at Showmax Africa said in a statement: “As an African brand, showcasing and telling African stories is at the core of our content production, so we are excited to be partnering with NBCUniversal Formats to bring The Real Housewives of Lagos to our subscribers. The Real Housewives of Durban, now in its second season, has smashed viewing records and delighted fans. Our Nigerian subscribers are in for a treat with the local edition.”

The launch of RHOLagos follows the success of The Real Housewives of Durban, which just premiered its second season on Showmax a few months ago. The Real Housewives of Johannesburg, the South African franchise that started it all, is reportedly on hiatus while the streaming service considers expanding to other cities, like Cape Town.

The Real Housewives of Lagos Season 1 drops its first episode on Showmax on Friday, April 8.
