Ratings: ‘RHOA’ Drops Dramatically Following Season 14 Premiere, ‘Love Match Atlanta’ DOA

RHOA has dropped dramatically in the ratings since the Season 14 premiere just over a week ago and its performance didn’t lend much help to new series Love Match Atlanta, according to just-released numbers.

According to Nielsen, the second episode of RHOA Season 14 earned a dismal 0.23 in the P18-49 demo and just 736,000 viewers in the live ratings. While this isn’t quite a series low for The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the numbers are getting eerily close to Season 1 which premiered over 10 years ago to little promotion.

While RHOA was up against the NBA, NHL, MLB, and Nascar on Sunday night, the show fell out of the top 10, landing at number 16 on the cable top 150, a terrible placing for what was once Bravo’s top-rated Real Housewives franchise.

The lacklustre response to RHOA didn’t help Kandi And The Gang (0.13/449,000) or new show Love Match Atlanta, which debuted to a low 0.13 in the demo and 403,000 viewers in the ratings. The Atlanta-based series follows the personal and professional lives of five high-profile matchmakers.

While Kandi’s spinoff hasn’t been bringing in the type of numbers we saw with Porsha Williams’ Porsha’s Family Matters, the series had been growing in the ratings up until this week, hitting a season high just last week (0.18/642,000).

As previously reported, The Real Housewives of New Jersey is now currently the top-rated Real Housewives franchise. Despite little promotion from the network, RHONJ has consistently generated over 1 million live viewers, even leading all of cable with the Season 12 premiere back in February.

RHOA Season 14 stars Kenya Moore, Drew Sidora, Sheree Whitfield, Marlo Hampton, and new Housewife Sanya Richards-Ross.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays on Bravo.
