Netflix Renews ‘Selling Sunset’ For Seasons 6 & 7: REPORT

Season 5 has yet to be given a premiere date.

Netflix has renewed Selling Sunset for Seasons 6 and 7, according to a new report.

TMZ reporter Brendon Geoffrion was first to break the news, tweeting about the renewal news late last night (January 21).

“Selling Sunset has been renewed for season 6 & 7, production sources tell me,” he tweeted. Then, a report surfaced from Us Weekly that confirmed that yes, Netflix has indeed renewed Selling Sunset for two more seasons.

“Everyone is very excited,” an insider dished exclusively to the gossip magazine, adding that Seasons 6 and 7 won’t start filming right away so that the cast is given “a bit of a break” before returning. There is plenty of time, too, seeing as Season 5 hasn’t even been given a premiere date.

(Season 5 was filmed immediately after Season 4, which just debuted on the streaming service in October.)

Season 4 drama

Selling Sunset Season 4 debuted only months ago and the drama heavily focused on Christine Quinn and new agent Emma Hernan. By the end of the season, however, Christine was pretty much feuding with everyone and her relationship with her co-stars, including Heather Rae El-Moussa, is now at its lowest point ever.

While Christine gets a lot of attention for being the show’s resident villain, by the time Season 4 ended, many fans had switched teams after seeing some of the mean girl behaviour displayed by Chrishell Stause and Mary Fitzgerald. Plus, it turns out that newcomer Emma hasn’t exactly been forthright about her relationship with Christine’s ex, causing even more fans to take a second look at the season.

More Selling Sunset on the way

Regardless, the drama is sure to heat up when Season 5 debuts sometime this year and will only get crazier once cameras start rolling on Seasons 6 and 7. Plus, there is even more of the Selling Sunset franchise on the way: Selling Tampa debuted in December, and Netflix is currently in production on Selling The OC, a new spinoff set to feature the Oppenheim Group expanding to Orange County, California.

Seasons 1-4 of Selling Sunset are now streaming on Netflix.
