NBCUniversal Shuffles Bravo, Peacock Leadership

NBCUniversal, Bravo, Peacock

NBCUniversal is shuffling the Bravo and Peacock leadership teams, according to a new release.

According to Deadline, Donna Langley (who was Chariman, Universal Filmed Entertainment Group) has been promoted to oversee the organization’s entertainment divisions which include both film and TV, encompassing both Bravo and streaming service Peacock.

Susan Rovner, who had been the Chairman, Entertainment Content for the company’s Television and Streaming division, is leaving as part of the shuffle. According to the report, Mark Lazarus (Charmain, Television and Streaming) and Frances Berwick (Chairman, NBCUniversal Entertainment), one of Andy Cohen’s infamous bosses, have also been promoted as part of the change-up.

According to Deadline, Lazarus will now oversee the TV and streaming platforms, as well as distribution and monetization, and will continue to run the television networks (hi, Bravo!), Direct to Consumer business (Peacock), as well as the NBC Sports Group and the NBC affiliates.

Frances Berwick has been promoted to Chairman, NBCUniversal Entertainment and will report in to Lazarus as one of her leaders and will reportedly add original content across NBCU’s broadcast, cable and Peacock options to her current responsibilities of running the linear networks.

Mike Cavanagh, who took over the reigns of Comcast in 2022, is the one making the changes.

While normally changes like this won’t be of interest to Bravo fans this one is a little different as Rovner, who took on her role in October 2020 and has worked closely with Berwick, was in charge of programming across NBC, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, Syfy, Universal Kids, USA, and Peacock. She also oversaw the teams that are in charge of development and current programming for scripted, unscripted, late night, and specials, as well as the first-run syndication unit, the trade outlet reports.

It isn’t exactly clear why Susan Rovner is leaving but a few new projects on Bravo, in particular, have failed to make a splash in recent months including the Real Girlfriends In Paris, Love Without Borders, and Love Match Atlanta, with the network struggling to launch a new series outside of The Real Housewives franchise in recent years.

Notably, Rovner would have also been involved in the network’s decision to reboot The Real Housewives of New York, which premieres with an all-new cast this July 16th.

Check out Deadline for more details on the changes.
