Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky have released a joint statement about the “most challenging” year of their marriage amid rumours of a split.

“In regards to the news that came out about us today… Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Buying Beverly Hills stars said in a statement posted to each of their Instagram pages. “However, yes, we have had a rough year. The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously.”

“There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part,” they continued, referencing the various cheating rumours Bravo fans have heard in the last few days. “Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative.”

Check out Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s statement addressing their split, below.

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky are denying they are divorcing just one day after PEOPLE reported exclusively that the duo have separated after 27 years of marriage.

Rumours of a split

Just yesterday, July 3, rumours of a split between Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky surfaced via a PEOPLE exclusive. In the report, the magazine said it had spoken to sources who have confirmed the duo are “separated.” The couple, in their joint statement on Instagram, didn’t address reports of a separation but did specifically mention they are not divorcing.

Real Housewives may be feeling deja vu with this recent report as the same thing happened with Chris and Monique Samuels from Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Potomac and OWN’s Love & Marriage: DC. When rumours of a split between that couple first surfaced at BravoCon, Chris and Monique sat for a YouTube live interview where they denied PEOPLE’s reporting and said they were not divorcing.

Just weeks ago, both Chris and Monique confirmed they are divorcing.

Interestingly enough, PEOPLE is the same outlet reporting news of Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky splitting and while we don’t want to believe it, they are usually spot on and don’t get these types of things wrong.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has already wrapped Season 13 but Mauricio’s Netflix show Buying Beverly Hills is still in production so it remains to be seen what evidence of a split, if any, will make it to air on their respective reality shows in the coming year.
