John Fuda is taking on Teresa Giudice’s fans over rumours of an arrest and reasons for a name change in his earlier years, according to a juicy new report.

“I’ve read some bogus misinformation on Twitter, so I figured I’d give the facts!” the husband of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Rachel Fuda told Page Six in an exclusive interview.

“I was never convicted and charges were dismissed,” he explained of the online speculation around his past. “Some of the online trolls tried to twist this information, stating this was the reason why I changed my name.”

John tells the gossip outlet that his previous arrest has nothing to do with his name change, something RHONJ fans have been speculating about on social media. “My last name is Fuda because after my parents’ divorce, when I was a baby, my mother had immense support from her side of the family,” he told the outlet. “My grandfather was a huge part of our lives, and the father figure in mine. My mother even received a call from Paramus school one day asking her to correct my signature; I always wrote ‘Jonathan Fuda’ on my papers.”

He continued, “Before getting married [to Rachel] in January of 2017, I wanted to carry the name Fuda in honor of Joseph Fuda. Some of the ‘Tre Stumps’ need to ask themselves if I wanted to hide my past, why did I make my former last name my middle name?” he asked, directly referencing the nickname Margaret Josephs gave to Teresa’s fans at the reunion.

As some RHONJ fans are well aware and as the article points out, John was arrested in 2008 at age 21 for operating a motor vehicle while in possession of a narcotic and the allegations surfaced after John decided to take on Teresa’s new man Louie Ruelas at the Season 13 reunion.

While everyone has a past, John was 21 and not a child when he was arrested so it is interesting that instead of doing outreach and talking to youth about how to avoid that type of situation, he is speaking to Page Six about Teresa’s fans and seems more concerned about his overall image.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey will reportedly begin filming season 14 later this summer.
