Former RHOSLC star Jen Shah will report to prison sometime today, Friday, February 17.
The news comes as the one-time Real Housewives of Salt Lake City breakout was sentenced to 6.5 years in federal prison back in January.
Judge Sidney Stein did not seem pleased with Jen’s behaviour in the case, admonishing her for selling “Justice for Jen” merchandise and questioning whether the reality star had empathy for her victims, according to live reporting from the New York City courtroom. The judge imposed a sentence of 78 months, or 6.5 years and 5 years of supervision upon release.
As previously reported, Jen Shah was facing up to 14 in years in prison for her involvement in a fraudulent telemarketing scheme with the RHOSLC star pleading guilty to charges.
According to NBC News Connecticut, Shah snuck into court back in July 2022 and plead guilty to the charges ahead of her looming trial, which was supposed to start on July 18, 2022. In addition to facing up to 14 years in prison, reports state that the reality star will also face millions of dollars in possible fines and restitution. Since pleading guilty, Jen’s sentencing was pushed multiple times, with the final date scheduled for January 6, 2023.
Prosecutors had originally been looking for at least a ten-year sentence.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is currently filming Season 4 and will return to Bravo later this year.
