Bravo has released the first trailer for its new RHONY spinoff, Luann and Sonja: Welcome To Crappie Lake.
The all-new series takes Luann De Lesseps and Sonja Morgan out of New York City and into rural Benton, Illinois, with the goal of helping the town recover financially following the devestation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“All I know about Benton is I know it’s very hot, they have some lakes,” Luann says in the preview, adding, “Oh my god, I’m gonna sweat like whores in church here.”

Here’s the official logline for Welcome To Crappie Lake:
“The Benton City Council surprises the town residents by inviting “Real Housewives” icons Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan to help spruce up their small town (population just shy of 7,000) that was devastated by the pandemic. It’s a fish-out-of-water experience for everyone involved, especially when the two Manhattanites check in to the local motel. The mayor wastes no time putting them to work and Luann and Sonja quickly realize they have their work cut out for them. From building a new playground to revitalizing the local theater with a full-on variety show and creating connections with the locals along the way, Luann and Sonja use their ingenuity to help improve the surroundings and rally the town’s spirits. Whether searching for the famous crappie fish in the lake with their bare hands or going mudding with monster trucks, one thing is for certain – with Luann and Sonja in charge and out of their element, hijinks and hilarity are sure to follow.”
The show will inevitably draw comparisons to Fox’s The Simple Life which starred socialites Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie as they traveled the country and worked everyday jobs. That series aired from 2003 to 2007 and made the two celebrities even bigger household names.
Both Luann and Sonja are well known to Bravo viewers via The Real Housewives of New York City. Luann is an original Housewife, while Sonja joined midway through the show’s third season. While the two are not returning for the just-rebooted Season 14 of RHONY, they will appear on Peacock’s recently-announced Season 5 of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.
Luann and Sonja: Welcome To Crappie Lake premieres Sunday, July 9th at 9pm ET following The Real Housewives of Atlanta, only on Bravo. Episodes will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.
