Tamron Hall Calls Out Stassi Schroeder For Saying She Was “Unprepared” For Their Interview, Says She Was Asked To Avoid Stassi’s Controversial Comments About The Me Too Movement

It's safe to say that Stassi's apology tour isn't going as planned.

Tamron Hall is calling out Stassi Schroeder following rumours that Stassi felt “unprepared” for their conversation, revealing that she knew all of the topics that were going to be discussed.

In a clip shared on Twitter by @QueensofBravo, Tamron takes Stassi to task and explains what happened behind-the-scenes of their controversial sit-down interview which aired earlier this week.

In a shocking revelation, Tamron said that not only did Stassi’s PR team know exactly what was going to be discussed on the show, but they reached out Tamron’s team on the eve of the taping to ask that the host not ask about any of the controversial comments Stassi made about the Me Too movement a few years ago. Tamron called her out after finding out that sources were saying Stassi was upset by the interview.

(Side note: Yes, Stassi’s behaviour that ended up getting her fired from Vanderpump Rules wasn’t the first time fans were shocked by her comments.)

“The other day I was told that the other day I was told that there was a report that Stassi felt quote unprepared and that it was awkward and even that I had gone rogue, whatever that means,” Tamron said on the September 22 episode of her talk show, which you can see in the clip below.

“Let me just be open,” she said after a sigh. “Because I am expecting everybody that is participating in this show day, I want them to be open and so I have to do the same. It’s why I wanted this show, to be honest.”

She continued, “I’m going to take you behind the scenes of TV. Now, I don’t tell the people the specific questions that I’m going to ask them but the topic and everything we discussed, Stassi knew.”

“She knew what I was going to ask her – not the questions. In fact, the night before the interview, it was asked that I not discuss the controversial comments on the Me Too movement where she had criticized women that had come forward with their painful stories and she made even more hurtful remarks about sexual assault that hit me to my gut that I didn’t ask her,” she explained.

“But again I want to be honest with you, given that she was five months pregnant, the issue of race was hard enough, for her and for me, and there was a lot to unpack, including that Nazi comment, so I said we were not going to go down that road but we would have this difficult conversation that we all should have to provide a better platform for our children.”

What did Stassi say about the MeToo movement?

Back in November 2017, Stassi lost sponsors for her podcast after her controversial comments about the MeToo movement surfaced. As reported by The Cut, Stassi took to the microphone to openly question the motivations of some women coming forward about sexual assault in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

Tamron Hall called out former Vanderpump Rules star Stassi Schroeder following what was supposed to be part of her redemption tour.

Among other comments, Stassi reportedly joked about a “hashtag Me Too trend” and said it was easy for women to decline unwanted advances. “No one can me make me suck someone’s dick,” she allegedly said.

Fired from Vanderpump Rules

The episode was later deleted and Stassi was forced to apologize for the comments. On a 2018 episode of Vanderpump Rules, Stassi’s podcast was discussed and co-star Billy Lee confronted her as cameras rolled but she ultimately escaped any punishment until her comments about Faith Stowers later caught up to her and resulted in Bravo’s decision to fire her from the show.

Just a few months ago, Stassi was fired from Vanderpump Rules along with Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni, over what the network called past racist behaviour. Following the drama, Stassi and her fiancé Beau Clark announced their pregnancy.

Vanderpump Rules is expected to return in 2021.
