Former RHOA cast member Peter Thomas has been found not guilty of assault in Baltimore, Maryland, according to breaking reports.
According to The Baltimore Banner, the jury deliberated for less than one hour in Baltimore Circuit Court before choosing to acquit Thomas of second-degree assault. Cynthia Bailey’s ex-husband was initially accused of drunkenly attacking a customer at his Bar One restaurant in Harbor East.
“We’re very happy with the verdict,” said his attorney, Warren Brown, according to the outlet. “This man is 62, has led a stellar life, built a successful business. And I think the jury rendered the right verdict.”
Assault allegations
According to The Baltimore Banner, Baltimore County resident Chanel Williams testified that she went to Bar One on March 20, 2022 with two friends, where she ran into Thomas who allegedly hugged her while appearing intoxicated.
“Later, Thomas went back to the booth in the VIP area, cursed her out for no apparent reason and put a hand around her neck and squeezed for about 30 seconds, Williams testified,” reports the outlet. “She later filed charges with a court commissioner.” Williams reportedly left the courtroom minutes after the verdict was read.
Peter, for his part, testified in the trial and called the allegations “ridiculous” and said that he did not put his hand on her neck at any point in time. “I’d be on every blog if that happened,” he testified.
The former RHOA cast member is currently feuding with RHOP’s Mia Thornton and her husband Gordon after he tried to distance himself from the couple following the former’s interactions with Wendy Osefo in Miami. While Peter claims he is not close with Mia and Gordon, the two clapped back in a new Instagram video detailing their relationship with Cynthia’s ex.
