‘RHOA’ Fans Slam Production’s Decision To Cut Kenya Moore Spa Opening Scenes

Some RHOA fans are slamming production’s decision to cut Kenya Moore’s spa opening scenes from the upcoming Season 15 finale.

During yesterday’s (August 20) airing of RHOA, fans began to comment on the fact that Marlo Hampton’s charity event was showcased despite Kenya, Kandi Burruss Tucker, and Drew Sidora not attending.

“I’m ready to see the Kenya Moore Hair Spa next week!!!” tweeted one fan.

Unfortunately, Kenya quote-tweeted that same post and revealed that the opening of her spa has seemingly been cut from the upcoming RHOA Season 15 finale.

“I think it was edited out #RHOA despite having the entire cast there except one and Miss @CynthiaBailey10 and @claudiajordan and it being my main storyline,” she posted just after Sunday’s episode had finished airing.

Kenya Moore is opening a storefront location in Atlanta to showcase her Kenya Moore Hair Care line but unfortunately for RHOA fans, it doesn’t look like the life moment will make it onto the show.

“Production failed Kenya this season,” tweeted one viewer. “So many scenes were cut out, including the opening of her Salon. The entire cast was there (minus one) plus Cynthia!! What’s wrong?!!”

It seems to be a general consensus among Real Housewives of Atlanta viewers that if such a big moment is happening in Kenya’s life, it should be showcased on the series — it is a reality show, after all.

“I think editing wasn’t focusing much on storylines,” added popular reality page @OMFGRealityTV. “Not gonna lie, #RHOA Season 15 was all over the place.”

While some fans haven’t enjoyed Season 15 as much as years past, it seems that many viewers are placing blame on production for decisions like this as opposed to any of the individual cast members.

“Saddest part about season 15 to me is the missed opportunity it had to be amazing,” posted @ThePeachReport. “While many blame the cast, most of it falls on the current show runner and production team without a doubt and you see it more and more each week. Production FELL FLAT this year.”

Lower ratings

RHOA Season 15 is earning lower live ratings than Season 14 and production deciding to cherry-pick from the Housewives’ persona lives will not do anything to entice viewers to watch.

The reason why other reality franchises like 90 Day Fiance are so popular is in part due to the fact that the content is fresh and arguably, more authentic.

A lot of what we are seeing on Atlanta — like Drew’s supposed kiss with LaToya — happened months and months ago and has nothing to do with any of the other Housewives yet production chose it as the main storyline. Plus, this isn’t even the first time fans have expressed this sentiment as they said the exact same thing just a few weeks ago when Cynthia Bailey was unexpectedly cut from another of Kenya’s scenes.

Hopefully, Bravo takes a good, hard look at production ahead of Season 16 before making any major casting changes.

On the most recent episode of the TV Deets Podcast, we discussed RHOA and shared some exclusive scoop on what to expect from Season 16. Listen:

In addition to Kenya, The Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Kandi Burruss Tucker, Drew Sidora, Marlo Hampton, Shereé Whitfield, and Sanya Richards-Ross, and airs Sundays on Bravo.
