‘Real Housewives Of Miami’ Season 5 Delayed Until 2023 In Canada — Find Out Why

Both Slice and Hayu Canada have confirmed the series won't return until next year.

Bad news, Real Housewives fans: the premiere for Season 5 of Peacock’s The Real Housewives of Miami has been delayed in Canada and will not air until 2023, TV Deets has confirmed.

Seeing as Season 4 debuted right around the same time as our U.S. counterparts, fans expected the rollout for RHOM Season 5 to be the same but after noticing a lack of promo for the series’ Canadian return, we thought we would ask around and try find out what is going on with our favourite Miami socialites.

Despite The Real Housewives of Miami Season 5 premiering in other countries like the UK and Australia on the same day as the U.S., a spokesperson for Hayu Canada confirms that the series will not premiere on the service until next year.

“The majority of The Real Housewives franchises are available to stream on Hayu in Canada the same day as the USA broadcast. In this instance, the premiere date of The Real Housewives of Miami Season Five, has been pushed back due to market nuisances,” a representative for Hayu Canada confirms. “However, the heat of The Real Housewives Miami will return to Canada when the latest season is available to stream from March 2023 on Hayu.”

RHOM is also mysteriously missing from Slice’s website and when reached for comment, the network confirmed a similar, although less-specific, timeline. (Slice is the Canadian TV network that airs all of the other Real Housewives series through a licensing deal with NBCUniversal.)

“Slice will air The Real Housewives of Miami in 2023,” a spokesperson for Corus Entertainment tells TV Deets. Peacock, for their part, did not return a request for comment in time for the posting of this article.

While it is great to hear that we will be getting Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Miami here in Canada eventually, there is no getting around how much it stinks for Bravo fans north of the border. We are used to being dinged around with different premiere dates and times but to commit to airing a reality show months after its U.S. debut when so many fans are used to the same release schedule is a new occurrence. Ironically, RHOM actually features a Canadian Housewife in Lisa Hochstein.

Peacock is not available to customers in Canada directly but that has not stopped any of their other shows from being sold to and premiering here. For example, Pitch Perfect: Bumper In Berlin (which is also a Peacock original like RHOM) made its U.S. debut back on November 23 before premiering today, December 8, on W Network in Canada.

While a week or two delay is understandable, a months-long delay in release seems to be a first and certainly a first when it comes to Bravo and The Real Housewives franchise.

The first four episodes of The Real Housewives of Miami Season 5 are now streaming on Peacock.
