Kristen Doute is speaking out about her departure from Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules, revealing in a new interview that the network hasn’t decided whether to move forward with another season.
In an interview with Hollywood Life to promote her new book, Kristen was asked about what she wants to do next now that she’s been let go from the reality show. “I was acting before Vanderpump Rules happened,” she explained. “I’m so grateful that Vanderpump Rules happened.”
Kristen Doute seemed to imply in a new interview that Bravo hasn’t renewed Vanderpump Rules for Season 9 just yet.
“I hope that they get a next season, but in my heart of hearts I [also] don’t so that we can all do something together, but yes, if it’s not that… I don’t know what genre, I don’t know what platform at this point, but I loved what we did for almost a decade and I would do it again in a heartbeat.”
Kristen’s comments are interesting as they seem to imply that Bravo hasn’t yet renewed the show for Season 9, despite letting her, Stassi Schroeder, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni go over the summer for what was described as past racist behaviour, saying in a statement that they would no longer be a part of the show moving forward.
In addition to their fair share of issues with casting, Bravo has another issue on their hands when it comes to a new season of Pump Rules: SUR itself. During the coronavirus pandemic, the restaurant shut down like many others, meaning there wasn’t much for Bravo to document but with the restaurant recently reopening, expect news on a new season to leak in the coming weeks.
Vanderpump Rules is expected to return to Bravo in 2021.
