Kim Zolciak has filed for divorce from Kroy Biermann amid reports the couple owes over $1 million to the IRS.
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star filed paperwork in Georgia and lists April 30 as the date of separation, according to a report from TMZ.
As the outlet indicates, the couple were married for over 11 years and had 4 children together during that time. Kroy was also a father figure to Kim’s two children from a previous relationship, Brielle and Ariana.
According to the report, the former RHOA star listed irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. She is reportedly asking for primary physical custody of the kids and joint legal custody and is seeking spousal support from the former NFL star. She also wants the court to legally restore her maiden name.
Financial troubles
The divorce news comes just hours after TMZ reported that the couple owes over $1 million to the IRS in unpaid taxes and fees.
According to the initial report, the couple owes for 2013, 2017, and 2018, and also owes the state of Georgia $15,000 in unpaid taxes for 2018. They are also allegedly fighting to keep their home with rumours the house featured on RHOA and Kim’s spinoff Don’t Be Tardy… was set to be auctioned off back in February.
As previously reported, Kim Zolciack will be seen on Season 15 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and was featured in the trailer after filming a scene with fellow OGs Shereé Whitfield, Lisa Wu, and DeShawn Snow.
Kim met Kroy while filming RHOA at a charity event back in 2010 and their relationship was featured on the Bravo show in subsequent years, eventually leading to their own family-based spinoff which lasted for 8 seasons.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays on Bravo.
