Kandi Burruss says Drew Sidora seemed “happy” just days before her pending divorce from Ralph Pittman became public.
Speaking to Page Six on Thursday night (March 2), the RHOA star clarified that she saw Drew two days earlier and that she seemed “happy.” According to Kandi’s timeline, this would have been after Drew filed for divorce but before it became public.
“I don’t really know what she’s going through. I do know I did see her two days ago, and she seemed happy,” she said on the red carpet of the SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B premiere at The Aster in Hollywood. “Maybe she’s in a space where she just doesn’t necessarily want to discuss it but just focus on her. I’m just going to respect that. When she feels like talking about it, then we can talk about it.”
Revealing that she and her husband Todd Tucker are friends with both Drew and Ralph, Kandi Burruss says they are just trying to keep the peace. “But for now, I’m just going to ride with whatever she’s feeling and what Ralph [Pittman] is feeling. I hope the best for them and their family,” she explained. “Todd and I are friends with both of them. Hopefully they’re both able to work things out. And if not, my wish is that they can have great communication with each other for the sake of the children.”
RHOA star Drew Sidora files for divorce from Ralph Pittman
As previously reported, Drew reportedly filed for divorce just one hour before Ralph in the same Georgia court room with new reports indicating that not only is Drew claiming she was cheated on and emotionally abused by Ralph, but she also says he was messing with the family’s finances and that she cannot take his “continued blatant disrespect and mental abuse any longer.”
She alleges Ralph has been a serial cheater over the course of their 9-year marriage with some of his past mistresses even sending her “sexts” as proof of the encounters. Drew also claims he recently got physical with her, grabbing her phone out of her hand causing her to fall to the floor. In the paperwork, she says Ralph raised his voice and was upset because he pays the phone bill and therefore, the phone belongs to him.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star also says that the couple tried counseling, some of which was filmed for Season 14, but that she had no choice but to file, especially after he removed a “large sum of money” from a joint account. She is asking for primary physical and joint legal custody of their two children together. (Drew also has another son from a previous relationship.)
The Real Housewives of Atlanta has wrapped filming on Season 15 but Drew’s divorce is expected to be included when the series returns to Bravo this summer. In addition to Drew Sidora and Kandi Burruss, the season is set to star Sanya Richards-Ross, Marlo Hampton, Drew Sidora, Kenya Moore, and Shereé Whitfield and while there are reportedly some new Housewives in the mix, Bravo has yet to make any announcements.
Meanwhile, Kandi’s latest RHOA spinoff, SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B, premieres this Sunday after Part 3 of The Real Housewives of Potomac reunion.
