Garcelle Beauvais is teasing a “fresher” Season 13 of RHOBH without Lisa Rinna and reveals Denise Richards brought “comedy” and “drama” in a recent guest appearance.
Speaking to PEOPLE on the red carpet of the 6th Annual Best Buddies’ Celebration of Mothers in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 13, Garcelle explained how filming has been “different” without longtime villain Lisa Rinna in the mix. “You know what’s interesting, she definitely had an impact on the show, and I never want to take that away from her, but it’s different,” she said.
“It’s fresher. It’s a little… not as… I don’t want to pin that on her, but it’s definitely fresher. The friendships, we’re figuring it out,” she continued. “There’s, of course, drama because there’s always going to be, but it’s just different.”
RHOBH is adding a new Housewife for Season 13 in Annemarie Wiley but it was Denise Richards the interview wanted to talk about and Garcelle didn’t disappoint in teasing Denise’s dramatic return to the hit Bravo show.
“I think it was great,” she revealed, adding that she isn’t allowed to specify how Denise comes back into the fold. “She brought a lot of comedy. She brought a lot of drama. It was fun.”
As previously reported, RHOBH is expected to bring in some familiar faces during Season 13 in addition to Denise Richards. Former cast member Kim Richards has been spotted filming with Dorit Kemsley and sister Kyle Richards, and Camille Grammer attended the same event that Denise was at.
In addition to Kyle and Dorit, Erika Jayne, Garcelle Beauvais, Sutton Stracke, and Crystal Kung Minkoff are expected to return as full-time Housewives but there has been no sighting of the third Richards sister, Kathy Hilton, so far.
Vanderpump Rules crossover drama
Garcelle has been all over Bravo as of late, recently appearing on an episode of the highly-rated Vanderpump Rules alongside her son Oliver Saunders. While fans seemed to love the guest stint, Garcelle seems less-than-impressed with how her son was featured.
“Obviously, he’s my son,” she said of Oliver’s dalliance with Raquel Leviss. “And we don’t always make great decisions. And he was definitely separated at the time.”
She continued, “I didn’t watch the episode because I didn’t want to. But my friends were like… they were mad for me, and they were like, ‘We felt like Oliver was used.’ But Lisa [Vanderpump] has been great, and she stood up for him, and I appreciate that, and we move on.”
Garcelle is currently filming RHOBH Season 13, which is expected to return this winter.
