Former RHONY cast member Jennifer Gilbert’s ex-husband has been arrested amid allegations he secretly filmed his nanny having sex.
Jennifer appeared on Season 3 of The Real Housewives of New York City as Jill Zarin’s party planner and at the time, she was married to businessman Bennett Egeth, who has now been arrested after his nanny filed a lawsuit alleging the secret recordings.
According to The New York Daily News, Daniela de los Rios alleges in court documents that she found a hidden camera in August 2020 after Egeth put his iPad down. The device appeared to show a live feed of her bedroom.
“She was horrified and immediately inspected her room to find a digital clock, which apparently concealed the secret video recording device, aimed at her bed,” reads the complaint, according to the outlet.
Egeth was arrested on September 16.
Jennifer Gilbert appeared as a Friend of The Housewives on Season 3 of RHONY after being introduced as Jill Zarin’s party planner.
In the lawsuit, the nanny alleges that she had sex with her boyfriend in the Tribeca apartment. The recording device was reportedly found in a clock that had been in her bedroom since she took the job as an au pair in January 2019.
According to the news outlet, Egeth had no comment but according to a report from Page Six, Jennifer seems to be distancing herself from the scandal, telling the outlet that she had separated from her husband years earlier and that the two are now divorced.
The Real Housewives of New York City will return to Bravo next year.
