Coppin State University Parts Ways With ‘RHOP’s Juan Dixon (EXCLUSIVE Details)

Coppin State University has officially parted ways with RHOP’s Juan Dixon, according to reports.

CBS News Baltimore reports that Juan is officially out after six seasons as head basketball coach and the news comes as RHOP is gearing up for production on Season 8.

Despite a seemingly okay tenure with the team — Coppin State won the MEAC regular season championship during the 2020-2021 season with Juan as head coach — the school is now on the hunt for their 8th head basketball coach in the men’s program history.

While no specific reason for Juan’s departure has been released, sources tell TV Deets exclusively that the decision was made in part due to an ongoing lawsuit against the school in which he is named as a defendant and the infidelity allegations that came to light during Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Potomac.

Shocking Coppin State University lawsuit

As previously reported, a former player of Coppin State basketball has filed a lawsuit against the university alleging he was sexually assaulted and then blackmailed by the team’s assistant coach.

Juan Dixon, who was the head coach at the time, has also been named in the lawsuit for failing to do anything about the assistant coach’s inappropriate behaviour once being informed.

“The legal complaint says ‘by information and belief’ Lucian Brownlee, a former guard who served as Director of Player Development and Director of Basketball Operations, harassed, tormented and sexually assaulted the player, Ibn Williams, before publishing intimate material he had obtained from the student,'” reads a report from The Baltimore Brew.

Williams was allegedly being blackmailed by a supposed catfisher, with his lawyer now believing Brownlee was the one behind the accounts in question. Once Dixon was informed of the allegations, he reportedly made Williams play the next day and failed to do anything about the situation.

According to lawyer Daniel “Donny” Epstein, Dixon should have never promoted Brownlee considering he was aware of previous inappropriate behaviour. “The coach should have known better than to put this person in a position of seniority,” he told The Brew.

Cheating allegations

In addition to the lawsuit, allegations of cheating and infidelity have followed Juan Dixon for years, coming to a head once again during Season 7 of RHOP. Robyn Dixon, Juan’s wife and an original Housewife on Potomac, is facing backlash from fans for saving the news of another alleged affair for her podcast as opposed to opening up about her real life in front of Bravo viewers.

Back in January — after the RHOP Season 7 reunion had been filmed — Robyn admitted that she knew about another alleged affair of Juan’s before the season but decided against bringing it on the show. (To be clear, this is not the woman that Karen Huger mentioned on the cast trip to Mexico.)

“I debated on whether addressing this because I usually, I don’t know, I don’t really give attention to stuff like this and people who want attention but I figured there were a lot of lies and things being misconstrued,” she told Gizelle Bryant late into the hour of their podcast Reasonably Shady.

“A young lady came forward talking about she and Juan dated during COVID and then she shows this hotel receipt with his name on it,” she continued, referencing a TikTok video that made the rounds with Gizelle adding “those are the allegations.”

“First of all, I was aware of the situation before we filmed Season 7 [of RHOP] and because this lady was so pressed to tell me and to tell you, Gizelle, I presumed she told the entire cast,” she explained. “So all of Season 7, I’m just waiting for someone to bring it up…. That’s our life, I’m just ready for it, I’m waiting for it.”

Talking about the cast trip to Mexico where things imploded between her and Karen, Robyn says that she was ready for it: “When we were in Mexico and Ashley told me ‘Karen is talking about’ us, I’m like ‘this is it.’ And she talks about some woman holding hands in Georgetown with blonde hair that looks like Karen. So I’m like ‘this is ridiculous’… It was kind of comical to me so we go down that road. However, I was already aware of the situation and planned to talk about it during Season 7.”

She explained, “Now, the situation when it was presented to me was handled, it was discussed, it was handled, it was something we had to work through… It was not just like ‘oh, okay, whatever’… However, there are a lot of things that need to be cleared up with what’s being said about what allegedly happened…which did not.”

Coppin State University parts ways with Juan Dixon

Robyn and Juan Dixon are now once again married, with Bravo including footage of their nuptials in the RHOP Season 7 finale despite none of the other Housewives being present for the big day.

According to her now-infamous appearance on Watch What Happens Live and Part 3 of the reunion, Robyn does not view this latest incident as cheating, although it is now clear that Coppin State University may have their own opinions on the scandals that have been plaguing the Dixons this season.

The news of Coppin State University parting ways with Juan Dixon comes as RHOP is gearing up for production on Season 8. While no announcements have been made about the new season, Robyn is expected to return and whether she brings it up or not, we have a funny feeling this latest news will be a hot topic among the women.

The Real Housewives of Potomac will return to Bravo later this year.
