Eboni K. Williams says she has formed a “deep friendship” with Leah McSweeney just weeks into filming on RHONY Season 13.
According to E! News, Eboni appeared on the Bevelations show on Radio Andy’s SiriusXM channel and opened up about what it has been like since joining the franchise.
“She’s lovely. And what I, and Leah knows this. So, I’m not saying anything to you that I’ve not said to Leah,” she told host Bevy Smith. “When I first engaged with her, I was sure, you know, well, I called Leah like, ‘Black adjacent.’ She’s adjacent to the culture.”
“Leah’s exactly who she is,” she said. “She’s unapologetic about who she is. She acknowledges how the culture, our culture, has influenced her career and her aesthetic and her lens. And she pays homage. She’s not trying to be a black girl. And I really, really love that about Leah.”
Eboni K. Williams says she has hit it off with Leah McSweeney since joining RHONY Season 13.
“You know, Leah and I have really started to develop a deep friendship really,” she continued, adding that she and her RHONY co-star have formed a “spiritual connection”, as well.
According to Eboni, the cast are deep in the midst of filming and the new Housewife revealed that diversity and race issues will be addressed during the upcoming season, following this summer’s Black Lives Matter protests and as she points out, Leah has always been an advocate and ally.
“You know, we’re still very much in our filming process,” she explained. “I believe it will continue to happen because it’s what you said. It’s unavoidable, it’s unavoidable. I mean, as a cast we, you know, just experienced this election, we’re still, I mean, we’re still very much in this election. We still don’t have an outcome.”
As previously reported, in addition to Eboni and Leah, RHONY Season 13 will also star Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, and Ramona Singer, and is set to return sometime in 2021. Tinsley Mortimer and Dorinda Medley are both not returning to the series.
