Caroline Manzo says she knows who called the FBI on RHONJ co-star Teresa Giudice prior to her eventual conviction on federal fraud charges.
The former Real Housewives of New Jersey star made the revelation at Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast live event in New York City on Thursday, May 18, according to a write up from the gossip outlet.
“I know who did,” she reportedly said, adding, “P.S., I was there.” Caroline’s daughter, Lauren Manzo, was also appearing at the event and jumped in to say that the family would never reveal who was responsible for turning Teresa and her now ex-husband Joe Giudice in. “But we’ll never say who it was,” said Lauren.
According to Page Six, Caroline went further into detail on the situation, saying that she “took the fall” for someone else because she is not a rat. “It’s not even about being a rat,” she explained. “There’s this thing called collateral damage. So, when you say something, who’s going to hurt? Who is this going to hurt by saying this truth?”
“You can believe whatever you like about me,” continued the former RHONJ star. “I know I never did — I could never do that. But if blaming me makes you feel better, OK, then your reality. It’s not going to change my day.”
According to Caroline’s version of events, she took the blame for the call “to protect people that didn’t deserve the collateral damage and the fallout once it comes out.”
As longtime RHONJ fans know, Teresa has blamed Caroline for her conviction on federal fraud charges believing that Caroline was the one who called in a tip to the FBI. As the outlet points out, Teresa and Joe were convicted of fraud in 2015, with Teresa serving 11 months and Joe serving three years before being deported to Italy in March 2019.
The drama between Caroline and Teresa hasn’t stopped since, with the two even going at it during October 2022’s BravoCon.
While Caroline did not mention who made the call to the FBI, many fans are now inferring that it was her sister-in-law Melissa and her husband Joe Gorga which, if true, would be shocking news for RHONJ fans.
