Captain Sandy Yawn reveals in a new interview that in addition to Camille and Alissa, she actually considered firing Chief Stew Fraser Olender during her takeover on Season 10 of Below Deck.
“There was a moment [where I considered firing him]. Absolutely. Because listen the walls are thin and [it is important to not] jump on their bandwagon. Change that narrative. That’s your role as the superior here,” she told Us Weekly while promoting her new book. “You’re absolutely responsible for your team. So I didn’t go to the [interior] team members [with my issues]. I went to the chief stew and said, ‘This isn’t happening. You hired them. Fix it.'”
She continued, “Like, if you need help, ask me. But until then, I stay out of it. I will only help if I see that the client is suffering in service. If I see something going wrong or there’s disharmony on board in my eyes — that’s when I step in.”
Captain Lee exits Below Deck ahead of Season 11
This season, Below Deck viewers have seen Captain Sandy and Fraser struggle to build a relationship after she took over for Captain Lee Rosbach following his decision to exit the season early to focus on his health. Once Sandy said goodbye to Camille and Alissa, she referred to Fraser as the “cancer” on board the St. David.
Captain Lee has since taken back the boat, making way for Sandy to go back to Below Deck Med but as TV Deets has exclusively reported, it won’t be for long as Bravo has decided to fire Lee and replace him with Below Deck Adventure’s Captain Kerry Titheradge on the now-filming Season 11.
