Sandy Yawn, Captain

A Fort Lauderdale native with over three decades of yachting experience under her belt, Captain Sandy Yawn is one of the most respected captains in the industry. A renowned super yacht captain and mentor in the yachting industry, Yawn is always looking to support crew members to reach their full potential. Sandy knew she wanted her career to revolve around the ocean from an early age and wasn’t discouraged when she discovered yachting to be a male-dominated field. Knowing the difficulties that come with leading an entire team while providing five-star service, she makes it her mission to know everything and every department on the boat. As the crew travels to Malta this season, Yawn attempts to keep the mood light, often joking with the crew. Still, she isn’t afraid to crack down on insubordination and be the tough boss she needs to be in order to provide guests with the best charter experience.

Mzi “Zee”  Dempers, Deckhand

A native of Durban, South Africa, Mzi “Zee” Dempers was adopted at 3 years old by a large family, with two brothers who are now in the yachting industry as a Captain and Chief Officer. After Dempers completed his education in Cape Town, he decided to follow in his brothers’ footsteps and start a life at sea. This season Zee returns to the Mediterranean with even more experience and is thrilled to be out of quarantine and back on deck under Captain Sandy’s wing. Dempers’ contagious laughter and lovable spirit make him the life of every party.

Kyle Viljoen, Stew

Originally from South Africa but currently residing in New York, Kyle Viljoen is the life of any party. Now living in the US, he has dominated on the East Coast with experience on both private and charter vessels and sailing boats. Leaving no stone unturned, he always prides himself on breaking stereotypical barriers and carrying a voice that can be heard from a mile away. When he was thrown into the deep end and forced to assume the Chief Stew role on a 42-meter yacht as his first position in the yachting industry, he surpassed expectations with flying colors. Since then, he has worked on a handful of yachts as a Chief Stew. Bringing a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry, Viljoen has no problem confronting anyone if he is challenged. A hardworking stew with an affinity for fun, drama and luxury, he’s ready to spice up the charter season and deal with demanding charter guests and at times, challenging crew members.

Jason Gaskell, Deckhand

Having left a career in commodities to become his own skipper on a sailboat, Jason Gaskell joins “Home” as his first experience working on a superyacht. During his 10 years in finance, he spent all his free time traveling and exploring the world, stumbling upon his passion for sailing. Since then, he has worked as an apprentice, dockhand and captain for many companies. Gaskell is a jack of all trades, who’s also skilled in sewing and embroidery and enjoys making custom swimsuits for his friends.

Dave White, Chef

Born in the UK and with over seven years of experience as a Head Chef, Dave White prides himself on plating, flavor and presentation. He lives for adventure of any kind and has competed in pro skiing competitions, climbed Mount Everest, skydived and has the tales of past injuries to prove it. After working in some of London’s most prestigious kitchens, White made his entry into the world of yachting and was hooked on its combination of cooking and adventure. In addition to serving as a Head Chef on several boats over the last seven years, White opened a France-based restaurant that is available seasonally.

Natalya Scudder, Stew

Australian-born stew Natalya Scudder has always been drawn to the water and brings her outgoing and can-do personality on board. She secured her first yachting job at the age of 18, quickly proving herself and making the seemingly impossible happen. Since then, she has worked on a handful of different boats as both a Second Stew and Chief Stew. No guest command has ever been too outlandish for her having worked for high-end clientele, including multiple royal families. Whether she’s entertaining the guests or setting stunning tablescapes, Scudder is dedicated to the job and still manages to be a barrel of laughs.

Raygan Tyler, Bosun

Bitten by the travel bug at an early age, Essex-born Raygan Tyler always knew she would live a life on the move. She first stepped on board working on the interior and has since broadened her boating experience. Tyler has overcome many challenges working in a male-dominated field and isn’t afraid to prove those who doubt her wrong. This season Raygan heads the deck team and excitedly joins as Captain Sandy’s second-ever female Bosun. As long as the work gets done, she is ready to have some fun.

Natasha Webb, Chief Stew

From a small town in West Yorkshire in the English countryside, Natasha Webb developed a strong work ethic after taking on countless jobs, including a golf caddy, bartender, nanny, schoolteacher, actress and now running her own yacht recruitment agency, Indie-Pearl. She began yachting 10 years ago and took on jobs on smaller motor yachts working her way up the ladder to Chief Stew on 100-plus meter motor yachts and developed a knack for planning themed parties and coordinating talent shows and events. Always ready to welcome charter guests with a charming smile and a craft cocktail, she prides herself on her leadership style that is equal parts fair and flare.

Storm Smith, Deckhand

Born and raised in South Africa, Storm Smith spent most of his time outdoors at the beach either surfing or fishing. Storm fell in love with boats and the lifestyle at sea describing his look as a “modern day pirate.” After trying out different fields from culinary school to film school, he still craved being near the water and decided to give yachting a try. With experience as a surf guide from his time in Sumatra, Smith found the perfect recipe working on a surfing and diving-centric charter yacht. Since then, he has worked on boats up to 240 feet. When faced with drama, his defense mechanism is to make light of the situation, but he has no issue taking hold of the ropes when things get out of hand.

Plus, check out the official description for Season 7, courtesy of a Bravo press release:

Captain Sandy brings 163-foot motor yacht “Home” to the pristine waters of Malta, one of the smallest and most historic archipelagos in the world. Different than previous charter seasons, Sandy is working with a complex hybrid vessel making it more unpredictable to navigate. To ensure smooth sailing this year, Sandy brings on a trio of new department heads, but when surprising friction in the galley intensifies between the Chief Stew and Chef, who came onto the boat as colleagues and friends, tension permeates through the entire boat. Meanwhile, the deck team faces an uphill battle when one crew member is unable to adapt to the high demands of Mediterranean superyachting, forcing others to pick up the slack. From difficult charter guests to roller-coaster “boatmances” and challenges with hierarchy on board, these yachties go to unthinkable lengths to survive the charter season.

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 7 is produced by 51 Minds with Nadine Rajabi, Jill Goslicky, Mark Cronin, Wes Denton, Shane Maroufkhani, Tania Hamidi, Christian Sarabia and Zachary Klein serving as executive producers.

Below Deck Med Season 7 premieres with a supersized episode on Monday, July 11 at 8PM ET/PT on Bravo.
