Season 9 of Married To Medicine may be over but that doesn’t mean the drama is! Much of the season focused on the allegations and rumours that Toya Bush-Harriss had cheated on her husband Eugene which not only divided the group but severed what was left between Toya and her onetime friend Anila Sajja. Now, the person who was blamed for starting the rumours — Anila’s friend Zaina Wuest — has come forward to put the real blame on Anila herself.
Zaina appeared on DJ Richie Skye’s YouTube show Reality Talk and spilled all of the tea about her friendship with Anila. In the interview, Zaina takes accountability for her actions while explaining that she was not the person who actually started the rumours.
“The reason why I’m here, Richie, is to basically clear the confusion and the rumour and I want to say it once and for all that this rumour did not start from me, or the neighbourhood,” she said. “It came to me from Anila.”

She continued, “Did I hear it? Yes. Did I hear it from anyone else in the neighbourhood? No. I heard it from Anila and to be a supportive friend — who I am to all of my friends — my real friends… I did not want to bring up [Toya’s] name and hence why I said ‘I heard it’ but did not mention a name.”
“Zaina is my priority and since Zaina’s name has been brought up and Zaina wasn’t there to defend herself,” she explained of her reasons behind speaking out, referring to herself in third person. “I’m now here to defend myself and now I can mention where I heard it from.”
“It’s really, truly sad but that’s where it came from, to me at least,” she said. “That’s who I heard it from.”
Cheating rumours
Toya was at the centre of a lot of the drama on Season 9 of Married To Medicine, with the cheating rumours first being brought up at Quad Webb’s Christmas party during Episode 10.
At the party, Dr. Heavenly Kimes told Toya that Zaina and Anila had been spreading allegations that she had slept with someone in the neighbourhood. The drama got so intense that the group had to be separated and the drama between Anila and Toya was not exactly cleared up at the recent three-part Married To Medicine reunion, either, with Anila refusing to take accountability for basically anything this season.
During the reunion, Toya tried to explain to Anila why the cheating rumours were oh so damaging but in the words of Andy Cohen, it did not seem to land — at all. Now that Anila has been exposed by Zaina, hopefully this leads to some resolution but we have a funny feeling that the drama is only going to continue. Cue Anila’s response in 3, 2, 1…
Married To Medicine is expected to return with Season 10 next year.
