‘Vanderpump Rules’ Star Max Boyens Facing Heat As Past Racist Tweets Resurface
Being cast on a hit reality show has got to be a dream for some people, but that same dream may come crashing to an end for one of the newest stars of Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules.
Max Boyens is one of four new cast members to join the show for season 8 and is the manager at TomTom. According to a report from PEOPLE, however, that may not last long as it has been discovered that Max used the N-word in multiple posts to his Twitter account.
“It upsets me that the word n— is not allowed to be said unless you are black because quite honestly it’s my favorite word,” he posted on Twitter in 2012, according to the Instagram account Bravo and More.
In another tweet in 2012, he targeted people of asian descent. “Something about Asians that just makes me want to punch them in the suck hole,” he tweeted.
“Theres this girl I see everyday @ school, she looks just like the girl from the movie precious & I’m not just saying this cuz she’s big and black,” he shared in another tweet.
These are just a few examples of what Max was posting, and the PEOPLE article contains a few more, including screenshots. Boyens has since made his social media profiles private.
To say the least, his comments are completely disgusting. This scandal comes following a disastrous racist storyline on The Real Housewives of Dallas this past season, and it wasn’t too long ago that Kim Zolciak was making people extremely uncomfortable on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, so this is nothing new for Bravo.
Our hope, however, is that they come out strong against the statements and do take some sort of action. Vanderpump Rules is one of the network’s most popular shows and seeing as they have such an educated, diverse audience they owe it to that same audience to be honest and transparent. After all, it is 2020 and the fact that someone is able to get on reality TV with such a past is embarrassing.
TV Deets has reached out to Bravo, Evolution Media, and Lisa Vanderpump for comment.
