‘The Hills: New Beginnings’ To Resume Production On Season 2 In LA Thanks To Brody Jenner

Get the latest details on Season 2.

If you’re a fan of MTV’s The Hills: New Beginnings, it looks like you may have Brody Jenner to thank for the show resuming production in LA on Seasons 2 after being delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

TMZ reports that The Hills: New Beginnings Season 2 is set to resume production in the next 2 to 4 weeks after only completing 3 episodes prior to the COVID-19 shutdown.

As previously reported, MTV had considered cancelling the show or placing the entire cast in a house a la Big Brother or The Real World but thanks to negotiations on the part of Team Brody, that isn’t happening and the show will look very familiar to viewers when it returns next year.

Brody Jenner (second from right) and the cast of The Hills: New Beginnings were reportedly furious to find out MTV wanted them to complete filming Season 2 by quarantining in a house together a la Big Brother.

According to show insiders, Brody was not excited about filming Season 2 in a house or out of state and eventually, both production company Evolution Media and network MTV folded to his demands, agreeing to resume filming in Los Angeles. It makes sense, considering the show is supposed to be about young adults in LA.

Who is returning for Season 2?

In addition to Brody, Adrina Patridge, Heidi Pratt, Justin Brescia, Spencer Pratt, Whitney Port, Frankie Delgado, and Jason Wahler, are all signed on for Season 2, while the network parted ways with Mischa Barton after Season 1 wrapped.

Socialite Caroline D’Amore is expected to replace Mischa, while Stephanie Pratt had threatened to quit the show months ago before. No news on Brandon Thomas Lee, either.

The Hills: New Beginnings Season 2 will return to MTV in 2021.
