Former Housewife Lydia McLaughlin is returning to The Real Housewives of Orange County for season 12 and she has made a fan out of at least one of her co-stars. In a new interview promoting the upcoming season of RHOC, Tamra Judge claims that Lydia won’t disappoint in her return.
Lydia joined RHOC way back for season 8 but left to deal with her family and wanting to have another child. Lydia and her husband have indeed had another child and this season, viewers will be introduced to a new — and very feisty — Lydia.
“I love Lydia,” Tamra said on Juicy Scoop With Heather McDonald. “I think Lydia is a sweet girl. Doug is an amazing husband, father, all that.”
We’ve seen the RHOC season 12 premiere and in it, Tamra reconnects with Lydia at a bible study and the two immediately bond over their shared interests. Just because Lydia is religious, however, doesn’t mean she’ll refrain from bringing the drama. “I’d have to say she’s not gonna disappoint this year. She did a damn good job,” explained Tamra. “I want to say Jesus gave her a voice, and she’s using it.”
In addition to Lydia and Tamra, Vicki Gunvalson, Shannon Beador, Meghan King Edmonds, and Kelly Dodd make up the RHOC season 12 cast. Heather Dubrow was unexpectedly fired after last season and this year, Orange County has gone through a bit of a facelift. While we don’t exactly enjoy watching Tamra, Lydia does bring some new flare to the show and it will be interesting to see how she interacts with the other women. In a sneak peek at the new season, it was revealed that Shannon and Lydia don’t exactly get off on the right foot and after the premiere, you’ll see why.
The Real Housewives of Orange County returns next month.
