Tamra Judge May Have Left ‘RHOC’ Over Shocking $840,000 Pay Cut
Before, some backstory: RHOC is produced by Evolution Media, the same production company that completely mishandled Lisa Vanderpump’s exit from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and after completely overhauling that show’s cast, they set out to do the same with Orange County.
Now, sources reveal to Radar Online that the production company may have lowballed the veteran, leaving her no choice but to walk away from the show she helped make a hit.
“Bravo bosses wanted Tamra to be bridge from the old cast to the new in season 15 and she refused,” a source told the website, revealing that she was asked to return for a few episodes like they have done with RHOC characters in the past.
“Tamra got her pick up contract letter last, after the other ladies, and it had major conditions in it,” said the source. “She was even more than demoted to a friend role. She’d have very little camera time. And it meant she would earn next to nothing in reality TV terms.”
Shockingly, the production company (and therefore Bravo) offered Tamra a $840,000 pay cut. “She would go from $900,000 a season to $20,000 an episode for just three show appearances, which would add up to $60,000 total. It was humiliating,” continued the source. “So Tamra walked away.”
Tamra was such a huge part of the franchise that despite what some viewers may think of her, her leaving will certainly create a void. While cast changes can sometimes help out and refresh a show, viewers often revolt when too many big changes happen.
The Real Housewives of Orange County will return later this year.
