Stassi Schroeder Speaks Out For The First Time Since ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Firing: “I Am The Reason Why I Am In This Situation”

The former Bravolebrity appeared to take accountability for her behaviour in her first appearance since being given the pink slip.

Stassi Schroeder is speaking out for the first time since being fired from Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules in a new interview on the Tamron Hall Show.

“People expected me to just understand everything immediately and things like that take time. And I felt like it would be better for me to take the time to get a greater understanding of everything and the issues before I opened my mouth again,” Stassi told the talk show host about this summer’s drama, according to Us Weekly.

“I’m someone who messed up quite a few times. I am the reason why I am in this situation,” she continued. “I think a lot of people wanted me to focus on cancel culture and whether I was a victim or not but it’s not how I feel at all.”

“[People thinking I’m racist] has been the hardest part of all this,” she continued. “Just going out to a restaurant and going to grocery store and wondering if that’s what people think. … I don’t have hate in my heart. But I recognize that I wasn’t anti-racist. That’s something I’ve been learning throughout all of this.”

Stassi Schroeder was fired from Vanderpump Rules along with Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni over what the network referred to as past racist behaviour. It came as a shock to viewers of the show considering Stassi has been the breakout star since Season 1.

“Bravo and Evolution Media confirmed today that Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni will not be returning to Vanderpump Rules,” the network said in an official statement at the time the news broke.

New PR strategy

This interview on the Tamron Hall Show is one of Stassi’s first steps in repairing her image, as she has hired PR powerhouse Steve Honig to help her navigate her post-Bravo future. Just recently, Stassi and fiancé Beau Clark confirmed that they are expecting their first child together, adding to the what seems like never-ending story.

“Stassi and Kristen acknowledged what they did was wrong, have apologized and been punished,” previously said in a statement.

Stassi Schroeder opened up about being fired from Vanderpump Rules for the first time on the Tamron Hall Show today (September 17).

“Without casting aside their actions or the impact of those actions, they want to move forward as part of the solution in ways that are productive, meaningful and sincere,” the statement continued. “Both of them recognize actions speak louder than words and that is what will guide them as they move forward.”

While it is great to see and hear that Stassi is finally taking accountability for her behaviour, many will feel like this talk show platform just isn’t the right next step. It does seem like she is crafting her way back into the reality TV world and seeing as this decision is so fresh, we really think it would be best for her to stay off TV for at least a little longer.

Vanderpump Rules is expected to return to Bravo in 2021.
