Things aren’t looking good over at Bravo’s Southern Charm.
Season 6 of the show wrapped way back in August and according to Radar Online, fans are in for quite the hiatus as filming on the new season has reportedly been delayed by Bravo as the network looks for new cast members.
The cast including Shep Rose, Cameron Eubanks, and Patricia Altschul have been told to put things on pause until January, a network insider shares with the outlet. Unfortunately, that means that viewers will have to wait months before Bravo announces anything about the new season including who will be joining the cast.
Production being delayed shouldn’t come as a shocker, however, as the show has been in turmoil since Thomas Ravenel, who appeared on seasons one through five, was fired from the show over allegations of sexual misconduct. (Yeah, it hasn’t exactly been pretty.)
Thomas may be revolting but his antics along with girlfriend Ashley were what catapulted the show from a sleepy Bravo hit into the mainstream. The show’s ratings even suffered with Thomas’ absence and it is normal for a network to be looking at making changes when that happens.
With all of that said, the cast was in fact invited to BravoCon in New York City recently, proving that they’re still in the good graces with executives. Or, they don’t want to reveal to fans just yet that the show may be in trouble. That second option, we should note, seems less likely since already-renewed shows like Southern Charm New Orleans weren’t invited to the network event.
