Scheana Shay Unhappy With ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Producers Over Season 8 Portrayal

Scheana Shay is upset with Vanderpump Rules producers over her season 8 portrayal, a new report suggests.

According to Page Six, Scheana was recently made upset when she heard a few episodes of the Twisted Plot Podcast where Vanderpump Rules producer Bri Dellinger appeared to reveal that part of her job is to find embarrassing clips of Scheana to include in the show.

“If Scheana knows what’s good for her, she’d befriend me because my favorite game is finding all the embarrassing things that Scheana does and putting them all in,” she joked on an episode of the podcast, according to the gossip outlet.

Bri even let slip that a recent scene depicting Scheana hitting on Stassi Schroeder’s younger brother was basically entirely fabricated.

“It was so funny,” she said as she started to tell the story about the season 8 scenes. “We were watching the scene and were like, ‘Okay, this is over the top, I realize that, but how can we resist?’ … Yes, I set it to funny music and I added a funny [sound] bite, but she did that.”

She continued, “We asked her in the interview, ‘How young would you go?’ and we didn’t tell her it was for the Nikolai scene, of course.”

The podcast episodes have since been removed and according to Page Six, it’s because Scheana is upset with how she is being treated by the crew.

“Scheana’s definitely frustrated with how she’s been portrayed,” an insider close to the show revealed. “She’s not the type to pop off when she feels slighted by an unflattering edit. She signed on to be a part of a reality show, which requires her to share her life highs and lows; she just wishes audiences got to see a bit of a more balanced view of her life, not just the most cringe-worthy moments.”

“She’s been assured by the network and production that she’s part of the charade,” continued the source. “She’s going to be absolutely crushed by hearing that she’s actually the butt of the joke.”

It’s interesting to hear that Scheana is upset with production as this is becoming a bit of a pattern at Evolution Media, the production company behind Vanderpump Rules, it seems.

Last year, Lisa Vanderpump raised her own concerns with the network over her treatment on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, despite being a credited Executive Producer on Pump Rules and an original Housewife.

Then, Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson were fired by the production company in a somewhat embarrassing way, and both have since hinted that they aren’t necessarily happy with how they were treated by the company.

And if you take a look outside of Bravo, there are rumours about the production team behind MTV’s The Hills reboot which is also, surprise, surprise, at Evolution.

According to insiders on that show, Mischa Barton is reportedly furious after being dumped by the production company despite being their big name hire for the reboot. (Regardless of what you say about The Hills reboot, it isn’t Mischa’s fault. But we digress.)

Scheana is such a fantastic part of the show and when the drama behind the show becomes the show, that’s when you have a problem. Hopefully, Evolution realizes that what made the show so entertaining in the first place was how real and raw it seemed and not the scripted scenes they seem to be introducing multiple times an episode.

Vanderpump Rules airs Tuesdays on Bravo.
