Scheana Shay Says She Wanted To Break The Fourth Wall On ‘Vanderpump Rules’ This Season But Lisa Vanderpump Shut Her Down
Scheana Shay is not holding back.
After an editor on Vanderpump Rules went on a podcast and revealed that she was basically in charge of embarrassing Scheana on the show, the longtime reality star isn’t holding back about how she feels as the season wraps.
Scheana recently appeared on Maria Menounos’ web show Better Together to dish on the current season of Vanderpump Rules and made some pretty interesting remarks about how the season came together, according to Page Six.
Scheana was asked about her issues with editing this season and made it clear that she tried to talk to Lisa Vanderpump about her portrayal but that it fell on deaf ears.
“I don’t know,” she said, when asked if Lisa could have helped her with her edit by either talking to production or the network, Bravo. “I mean, I went to her last year and she knew I was really upset with how things were going into last season and the whole scene where they do this stupid montage of ‘I’m not jealous. I’m not jealous. I’m not jealous. I’m not jealous.’ I was crying to Lisa, just like begging her to listen to me.”
Unfortunately for Scheana, she says that despite her wish to break the fourth wall, Lisa just wanted her to move on and play the reality TV game.
“Oh please, stop it,” she joked, mimicking Lisa’s accent. “Be professional. Do your job. Stop breaking the fourth wall.”

Lisa’s reaction didn’t go over well with Scheana, to say the least, and the reality star went on to explain her real reasons for approaching Lisa.
“I’m like, ‘Let’s break the fourth wall. Let’s talk about the real issue. I’m jealous that Dayna [Kathan] is on a show that I started with my friends — we all started together — it’s our show along with you Lisa,” she explained. “I’m upset that this new girl is coming on our show and now is getting to showcase her career when she hasn’t worked a day in her life for this. Like literally, it was just handed to her.”
“Oh girl at The Mondrian you’re gonna work at TomTom,” she continued, referencing Dayna’s quick appearance on the show last season. “Here you’re on the show. We’re gonna film your comedy show and it was just like, how is that fair to all of us who have worked so hard for eight years? And it’s just like, ‘Nope. Scheana’s the jealous girl over Max [Boyens] the bar manager. Like love you Max, but nah, was definitely not jealous over that.”

Clearly, Scheana is upset with how she has been portrayed this season and after hearing this interview and her thoughts on Dayna’s addition to the show, we continue to see her side of things.
Watching the show this year, it was clear that production had invested heavily in the new cast members and Dayna’s comedy career was highlighted numerous times. Brett and Max were also heavily featured both at Sur and TomTom.
Scheana, for her part, can be credited with helping bridge the old cast and the new cast, sacrificing any sort of solo storyline, and she should be appreciated by production for doing so. After all, this is the same woman who helped launch the show drama-wise almost a decade ago.
Vanderpump Rules returns next Tuesday at 9/8c on Bravo and Slice with what is sure-to-be a dramatic reunion special.
