Scheana Shay Defends ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Co-Star Over Racist Tweets: ‘He Really Is A Good Person’
Oh, Scheana Shay.
Following the resurfacing of racist tweets by new Vanderpump Rules cast members, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni, Scheana is coming to the defense of her new friends and trying to explain away their “stupid” comments from the past.
“I mean, I don’t agree with anything he said in any of those tweets. I don’t condone that whatsoever,” Scheana revealed to Us Weekly in a recent interview. “But I will say that Max, despite what you’ve seen on the show so far, he is — and I know I say this a lot as well — one of my best friends. But he really is a good person and he has a good heart. I know he is very apologetic for anything he said that was stupid in the past.”
As previously reported, racist tweets belonging to both Max and Brett surfaced as the new season of Vanderpump Rules was about to premiere.
“It upsets me that the word n— is not allowed to be said unless you are black because quite honestly it’s my favorite word,” Max posted in 2012, according to the Instagram account Bravo and More.
In another tweet in 2012, he targeted people of Asian descent. “Something about Asians that just makes me want to punch them in the suck hole,” he tweeted.
Clearly, these aren’t just “stupid” comments from the past. Up until now, it has been Bravo’s gameplan to somewhat ignore the controversy but with Scheana dragging things up, we’re not sure that strategy will remain all that effective. If we were Scheana, we probably would avoid defending these two moving forward.
